Field and Sky Jug

95.00

This form was traditionally made to store homemade moonshine, which was actively traded and consumed from inland Appalachia to the coastal South. Now the jug makes a fantastic display piece and conversation starter. The decoration on this piece references the tobacco fields I’ve seen sprinkled in the mountains of Appalachia. The drawing of plants and barn is hand-stippled into the surface of the slip to make a subtle pattern. This pot is made from a dense earthenware clay. It is dishwasher/microwave safe and ready for daily use.
